For the last few years, the nonprofit has been making and distributing cat shelters to the community ... and the entryway should be several inches above the ground to keep out rain and snow.

Community members are encouraged to pick up free shelters to place outside for local cats to stay warm. They'll be available from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at 2600 S. Harding St.
