PD cyclers-Low drain volume alarm - Home Dialysis Central
Jan 19, 2006 · The machine (for Baxter models anyway) really only has about 3 PSI of drain pressure. The machine seem to have some sort of fuzzy logic in it, it will pump/drain aggressively for a period of time then seems to go into a more relaxed drain scheme, finishing up with another aggressively drain cycle when done.
Using the 12ft Patient Extension Line - Home Dialysis Central
Sep 10, 2009 · This took yet another call to Baxter (I belive the 5th between us) to settle if it could be done, then no problems. There seems to a degree of misinformation about the use of the 12ft patient extension with the 3-bag cassette and its existing 22 ft line. Baxter recommends not more that 34 feet in total, i.e. one extension to be used max.
Power backup (UPS) for Baxter 'Home Choice Pro' machines
Aug 26, 2011 · I looked up specifications for the Baxter Home Choice and Home Choice Pro and for the Fresenius Liberty cycler. It appears that the power need is 600 watts for the Baxter cycler and 700 watts for the Fresenius Liberty cycler. I’d confirm this with the your home training nurse or the manufacturer.
Manual Draining using the cycler - Home Dialysis Central
Sep 8, 2022 · My father has been on PD since March of 2022. However, they didn’t do a PET scan until August. The results showed an absorbent peritoneum. They added a cycle and lowered his dwell time. We use the manual drain option on his cycler daily because there seems to be a lot of fluid in him, but it’s several hours after dialysis is finished. I’m afraid he’s absorbing excess …
How to stop the PD machine to pump solution from an empty bag
Jun 23, 2009 · I use a 6-liter bag and 3-liter bag each night and need only 8-liter. I have 4 cyles. The 3 liter solution is pumped into the 6 liter bag during the first two cycles. However, the Baxter PD machine continues to pump solution from the empty 3-liter bag until the starting of the fourth cycle. When I wake up, I can hit “stop” to stop the pumping.
Low volume drain alarms - Home Dialysis Central
Feb 14, 2011 · Husband has been on cycler, first on the one with the card and the second one without. With each one, the first couple of nights went well, but on succeeding nights, there were more alarms. He has tried changing positions without getting out of bed, but the only thing that seems to work is if he sits up or stands up. The PD nurse ordered abdominal x-ray which …
Baxter cycler machine - PD For Patients - Home Dialysis Central
Sep 22, 2008 · I have been on PD using a night time Baxter cycler for nearly 1 year. I am on my 5th machine, having replaced 4 of them because of malfunctions, loud vibrations, and just breaking down. Is this usual?? Most of the replacements have occurred after traveling with the machine in the car. I use the suitcase it came with and am very careful with it. I have also struggled with …
Initial Drain on Cycler - PD For Patients - Home Dialysis Central
Jan 2, 2007 · I’ve been on the cycler during the night for approximately two weeks. My initial drain in the evening doesn’t get near the amount of fluid out as was put in me that morning on my last fill. My overall UF is good. I’m trying to see if anyone else has experienced this and what the nephrologist has done so I can be prepared when I see my doctor. I’m afraid he’ll say to drain …
Shoulder pain during second and third cycles?
May 5, 2008 · Has anyone had a problem with shoulder pain during PD night cycling? We have been told that it may be from air in the lines but since then we always make sure that the lines are OK. In fact, one night recently the Baxter cycler said there was air in the lines but, oddly, that was the night of no shoulder pain! Pain is like a toothache right on the point of the left shoulder, …
Multiple Night alarms on home PD - Home Dialysis Central
Sep 1, 2018 · I have been using home peritoneal dialysis since May of 2018. During the night, I roll over on my patient exit tube setting off the Liberty cycler alarm multiple times. Shifting my body solves the problem each time but the sound wakens both me and my wife resulting in broken sleep. Has anyone found a solution to protect the tube where it exits from the body?
